A New Year: A New Journey
Updated: Feb 2
Welcome friends to the second week of the new year. That said, I hope this new year brings healing and salvation to those searching to join the army of righteousness. God has been good to the world, this past year. Yes, we have challenges, however, he has and continues to bring us through each one of them. That said, all need Christ and his gift of salvation. However, as the days turn darker, people have free will to choose three paths. One- Many will choose not to believe in God. Two- Christians will leave the faith. Three-Believers will embark on a new journey.
Path One: Many do not believe God exists. However, some believe in a higher power, but not in God. Though God shows everyone he exists through creation, thousands, if not millions, continue denying the truth. Therefore, people of all backgrounds doubt any evidence God exists. That said, his divine power and Godhead often become part of foul language and disrespectful conversation. Though there are many reasons people deny his deity, most often it is a result of disbelief. Consequently, these individuals reject all Biblical teachings. According to Pew research, 23% of those polled believe in a higher power (but not necessarily God). Romans 1:18-25
Path Two: According to Pew Research, 50 years ago, approximately 90% of those polled were Christians. However, as of 2020, only 64% of people claimed Christianity. Those who once loved Christ continue to walk away from the faith for a myriad of reasons. However, the most disturbing reason reported is longing to participate in worldly pleasures. For example, people no longer believe in the sanctity of marriage, or family. Some also believe in murdering the unborn and homosexuality. Therefore, those leaving God disregard his teachings of faith, obedience, and sin. Moreover, it has become more satisfying to pursue ungodly desires regardless of eternal consequences. Those in this category recognize God exists, then dishonor his gift of salvation by returning to their sinful lifestyles. Acts 7:38-39 and Hebrews 6:4-6
Path Three: According to Pew Research only 56% of people polled believe in God as the Bible describes him. (This poll may only include those in the U.S.) People on this path may have experienced events in their lives that convinced them, without reservation, God exists, the Bible is true, and Christ died for past, present, and future sins. Those in this group also realize God is not a myth and salvation comes only through believing in his death, burial, and resurrection. In addition, they also understand all are sinners in need of a savior. By understanding these facts, many persons submit to God’s will. Once saved, believers no longer fight with God but revere his power and deity. Their lives prove they honor, glorify and obey him. Church attendance and prayer for themselves and others become paramount in their lives. Their transformation becomes personal testimonies of extraordinary experiences. As a result, they win many people to Christ. These saints will serve God and die if necessary to defend their faith. Colossians 2:5
In 2023 as in prior years, misinformation concerning God and salvation continues to rise. Likewise, there is an increase in churches turning their backs on Christ to follow the world. These churches abandoned their first love and will ruin many lives due to their desire to become seeker-friendly, politically correct, and bow to the world churches. However, billions, due to many circumstances, continue to affirm they need God. By contrast, a vast number of people still hold firmly to their belief God is a myth or legend. Therefore, they choose to ignore salvation. God’s mercy and grace continue though many no longer love him.
I want to encourage all of us with this: everyone, planetwide has a chance for salvation, no exemptions. Salvation belongs to those who honestly seek him and find him. Acts 17:27 Our new journey begins when we accept Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Therefore, no one must suffer for eternity; it is a choice. A new journey in righteousness awaits all who believe.
I hope this blog is a blessing to all who search for Christ. God’s love is unmatched and will always continue. He is the ruler of all and offers salvation (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), no questions asked when you believe with your heart. Once a person dies, it is too late to accept his offer of salvation. God gives grace and mercy each day; therefore, each day is another chance to accept his gift. I would love to hear from you.
