Focusing on God

Welcome friends. In today’s geopolitical landscape, multitudes continue, begin, or end their relationships with Christ. However, the surety of an eternity with him becomes a reality when the newly born-again believer accepts salvation. As the years wear on, some no longer feel the excitement, joy, security, and steadfastness they once experienced. Their focus slowly changes from Christ-centered to world views. How do we remain focused on God? I have several tips to help you remain alert.

First, the adversary knows our weaknesses and will always capitalize on them whenever possible. My first tip is to pray. Direct communication using prayer, is the most effective method of talking with God. He hears us and answers our prayers (in his time). It may not be immediately, but he is always on time. When we pray, God settles and strengthens us. As we remember God’s goodness, grace, and sacrifice and thrive to please him he rewards us.

Two, we must open our hearts to our Father. There is nothing we can hide from him because he knows our deepest darkest secrets. That said, God does not force us to communicate with him. However, as children, we have the option to void our contractual obligation of love, service, and obedience to him when we become dissatisfied; however, our decision does not void God’s love for us. He patiently waits for us to return to him.

Last, when we accept God’s terms by faith, we agree to love him with our entire hearts and be righteous before him. As a result, Satan became our adversary, who would like nothing more than to see us fail, abandon Christ, our Bibles, meet together, pray, and most importantly, belief in Christ. His job is to create confusion, mistrust, twist the truth and create lies. Therefore, we will remain vigilant by asking for God’s will to be done in every situation. We must read God’s instructional manual for direction and comfort and share our experiences with others. In addition, pray for those who have allowed Satan to manipulate their faith and trust. God becomes our comforter, and best friend, who helps us remain steadfast, focused, and strong. I hope you have a wonderful week. I'd like to leave you with this verse, which is one of my favorites to read when I need encouragement and amour to stand firm and focused.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Eph 6:14-15 KJV Until next time, stay strong in his might.
