It's the blood
Updated: Jul 13, 2022
Readers, I'd like to apologize for not publishing last week. My blog was ready, however, there were some health related issues that intensified. Therefore, this week, there are two blogs. Again, thank you for your patience. While my siblings and I were growing up, we never heard about the blood of Christ, much less about salvation. Our home was just like some of the homes today. It was very secular. We went to church, but that was the extent of it. Our weekends were party central. My parents sent my sister and me to church but did not attend themselves. During those days, my parents had not discovered God’s amazing salvation. Therefore, we grew up with everything except knowing about the blood of Christ, which, if you think about it, is very sad.
Many years later, my dad sent a letter to me which included a picture of Christ, alongside a picture of himself dressed for church. Sometime after that, I received a photo of my mom, dressed in a white robe, a head covering, and holding a Bible. What a joy! By this evidence I would say, both my parents became Christians.
Fast forward about 40 years. The other day, Robert Breaker, an evangelist from Florida, spoke about the Blood of Christ. Then Sunday, we sang “Nothing but the blood written by Robert Lowry in 1876. The song goes like this:
1 What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Refrain:
O precious is the flow
that makes me white as snow;
no other fount I know;
nothing but the blood of Jesus.
What a great song! Within the same week, I listened to Rev. Breaker on YouTube. While listening and watching (He has a killer whiteboard filled with explanations and drawings), he talked about the blood of Jesus. Within two short days, and my pastor reminded me the blood of Jesus washes away sin. By accepting his gift, he saves us from the coming wrath. God tells us not ever to forget his blood.
First, Christ shed his precious blood for us on the cross at Calvary. Without his blood, there is not any forgiveness for our sins. It is so important we remember this part of his death. Sadly, some preachers do not teach about the blood. I can tell you, in my younger years, I do not recall any preacher ever talking about how the blood of Jesus takes away sins. Presently I can count on one hand, maybe two hands of preachers I have heard talking about the remission of sins through Jesus’s blood. Sadly, however, some don’t. Then the question becomes if a person does not know that Jesus’ blood washes away sins, how will they be saved?
1 John 1: 7 KVJ reads: “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” Which is one of many verses about Jesus’ blood.
Second, some churches, such as the Word of Faith, “Plead the Blood of Jesus.” However, “Pleading the Blood of Jesus” is not in God’s word. Therefore, many people in these churches may not know what the Bible says about the blood of Jesus, if that is the case, it is very sad and disturbing. How will they go to Heaven if they have not heard Jesus’s blood washes away sins?
Last, There are more than 40 verses in the Bible concerning Jesus’s blood. There are over 72,300,000 results on the internet about the blood of Christ. I’d say his blood is ultra-important. Would you agree?
To the pastors and websites who are preaching about the blood of Jesus! Go, ya’ll! It is wonderful. I have included several links below. You may know people who want to get saved but do not know about Jesus. These verses are great starters to help bring folks to Christ. Time is getting shorter by the day. Keep your heads up and continue praying for Christ’s return.
Would you please send an email my way to let me know how everything is going at dorothy@savedheartfaith.com? I will be looking forward to your emails. Thank you so much for your support.
God bless,
Dorothy
