Thirty Names of Christ

Welcome, friends, to another week. I wanted to talk about Jesus this week by discussing an uplifting subject- the Bible. The Bible separates into two Testaments- the old and the new. The Old Testament houses 39 books, while the New Testament has 27. Each book serves a specific purpose, thus identifying Jesus differently. This is a list of only 30 names of over 700 references.

Old Testament Names of God

3. I Am: Genesis 26:24; Genesis 28:15, Genesis 31:13, Exodus 3:6 and 3:14

4. Jehovah: Genesis 22:14 5. King: 2 Chronicles 20:6 6. Shepard: Psalm 23:1

7. Righteousness: Jeremiah 23:6 8. The Creator: Isaiah 40:28 9. The Almighty God: Genesis 17:1 10. The Lord God: Genesis 2:4, 2:7-9, 15, 18-19, 21-22 11. The Lord Jehovah: Isaiah 12:2 12. The Lord our righteousness: Jeremiah 33:16

New Testament Names

Alpha and Omega I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8

Servant Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

Matthew 12:18

Chief Corner Stone And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; Ephesians 2:20

Head of the Corner This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Acts 4:11

Lord Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. Matthew 15:25. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come: Acts 2:20

Only Begotten He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:18

Light of Life Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12

Beginning of the Creation And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; Revelation 3:14

Bread of Life And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35

Captain of Salvation For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Hebrews 2:10

Chief Shepherd And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. Peter 5:4

The Door Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. John 10:7

The Good Shepherd I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. John 10:11&14

The Head of the Church

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Ephesians 5:23

The Prince of Life And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. Acts 3:15

The way, The truth, and The life Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

The Word In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 Then John 1:14 reads And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

I hope this blog is a blessing to all who search for Christ or may have never read the Bible. God’s love is unmatched and will always continue. He is the ruler of all and he offers salvation- (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), no questions asked when you believe with your heart. It is only too late to accept his offer of salvation when a person dies.
