Three Myths

Three myths
Abraham Lincoln is attributed for making this statement: "You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time." In other words, a person can tell lies to some people and make them believe that same lie every time.
Society teaches many things, especially about salvation, the Bible, and Jesus. It is its way of pleasing everyone but not helping anyone. We have come to the time in our lives we cannot and must not allow society to dictate what we believe or attempt to derail our thoughts about Christ. Lately, we have had many incorrect assumptions about Christ. Frankly, some of these assumptions make it easy for many to disbelieve in Christ or never come to the saving knowledge of Christ.
Myth number one, Jesus is a myth. If the "father of lies" can dissuade people from believing in Christ, he wins more souls. Millions of people think Jesus is a mythological figure who lived many years ago. David Fitzgerald wrote "Nailed: Ten Christian Myths that Show Jesus Never existed at All". Another example is a poll conducted by the History Channel found that 22 percent of the English population polled do not believe Jesus exists. Sadly, the closest, most influential people in a person's life may not believe due to false information proclaimed by different media outlets. https://www.pdfdrive.com/nailed-ten-christian-myths-that-show-jesus-never-existed-at-all-e186138856.html
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Matthew 1:18
Myth number two, Author James Hanson claims people say Jesus was a Buddhist which fits the narrative he is equal to all the other earthly "prophets." Hanson's book unintentionally leads readers to believe Jesus is equal to other earthly gods such as Mohammed, the Dolly Llama, Buddha, or the Pope. There are even claims Jesus and Muhammad were brothers. If so, why does Jesus advocate peace instead of violence, marriage between one man and woman, and love your neighbors as yourself? Buddha believed in enlightenment, good behavior, physical labor and meditation are the ways to spirituality. They do not believe in God. https://www.nationalgeographic.org/encyclopedia/buddhism/
Muhammad had 12 wives. Jesus never married. https://www.google.com/search?channel=nus5&client=firefox-b-1-d&q=muhammad+had+many+wives
Pope Francis believes men can forgive sins. Pope Francis has declared that abortion, which remains a "grave sin" in the eyes of the Catholic Church, can be absolved by ordinary priests for the foreseeable future — instead of requiring the intervention of a bishop.” https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/11/21/502852325/pope-francis-grants-all-priests-the-ability-to-forgive-abortions
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. Matthew 9:6
Myth number three, Jesus was married. The Bible never says Jesus was a married man. However, many people think he was due to papers like the Atlantic fostering these ideas to the unbelieving world. They wanted to make Jesus to be like an ordinary man. If they can show he is like men, they can dispel his deity and godhead. Jesus was about his dad’s business.
And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? Luke 2:49
When a person straddles the fence, it is easy to read the earlier accounts and picture Jesus as an ordinary man. The world has made him lower or similar to earthly men instead of who he is- the king of kings. In this regard, why would sinners want to be saved by an "ordinary man"?
That said, my story is a short version. Life for me was foster care, physical and mental abuse, and finally uniting with my birth mom. Life growing up was rough. I always felt like an outsider. Later in life, I repeatedly married, looking for someone to love me. Each attempt failed except one. The most loving man I have ever known passed away. During these years, I attended several churches, looking for acceptance and love from others. However, I focused on people rather than God by looking for their acceptance instead of God's forgiveness. When we look for acceptance from people, our lives fail. Like many of us, sin, mistrust, hurt, and a multitude of wrong life choices fill our lives. For example, church people offered plenty of advice such as pray until you feel the spirit, go to church, pay your tithes, join this group or that group. None of the above actions amounted to a hill of beans in God's sight. If a person's heart is not ready to accept Christ, what's the point of doing any of the above?
Within the past year, I indeed found Christ. I learned that it is one thing to believe with my head and another with my heart. I now believe Jesus died, was buried, and rose again with my heart. He is my friend and my source of life and joy. I wake up thinking about him. I go to bed thinking about him. I know he listens, and I am no longer alone.
It is easy to place our trust in our abilities and not his. Society teaches us to depend on ourselves, be independent, and trust no one. God teaches us the opposite of society-to trust him and lean on his strength. It is hard to trust when a person's life has demonstrated no one is trustworthy. Sadly, it is another ploy of Satan. Many people follow Satan’s advice rather than God’s word. Why? It is a matter of trusting God and the person’s heart. If a person does not trust, how will they trust God?
As you can see several paragraphs above, the world also teaches Jesus is " just one of the guys “and that there is nothing special about him. Life with Christ is lovely, I am not saying circumstances don't arise. The devil is a busy angel. He wants to wreak havoc in any way he can. I am sure many of you can identify with my thoughts about Satan. There is always something happening we don't expect. During those times, it is hard to understand why these circumstances happen. However, when we reach our lowest point, Christ shows us he cares. I remembered this verse: I have been young, now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. Ps 37:25
I cannot tell you the exact moment Christ saved me; however, I know he did. My life became purposeful. God does not waste one second. Things we think are impossible; he says they are possible. For instance, my mom said I would never amount to anything; however, I graduated from college with two masters in Education and taught children with special needs. I also served in the military. I now have a website https://www.Savedheartfaith.com in which I blog about Christ, his goodness, mercy, and my life.
Christ loves me more than anyone ever has. God had a plan, and it was all about me. I am so grateful for his sacrifice. I am not bragging. However, I want you to know with God, everything is possible. Nothing is off the table. Thank you for the opportunity to share the rest my story. My Jesus works everything out for his good. He will change your life. No other god would pay paid for our sins with a cruel crucifixion, but Jesus did. The following two songs are about salvation. I hope you enjoy these.
